Burleigh Brewer is a graduate of the University of Southern California with a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance. He received his Juris Doctorate from Loyola University School of Law where he was elected to Alpha Sigma Nu, the National Jesuit Honor Society, and was Comment Editor of the Loyola Law Review. He served as a Student Teaching Fellow and was President of the St. Thomas More Honor Society. Burleigh subsequently received a Master’s Degree in Business Taxation from USC and was elected to membership in the National Business School Honor Society, Beta Gamma Sigma. After graduation from Law School, Burleigh served as Deputy District Attorney in Los Angeles County before leaving to serve on active duty as a Lieutenant with the Judge Advocate General Corps in the U.S. Navy. He was assigned to the U.S. Marine Corps at Parris Island, South Carolina, where he served as base prosecutor and later as Military Judge. Burleigh has practiced in Newport Beach since his discharge from the Navy in 1971.
Burleigh has been active in local community activities as a member of board of directors of The Boys and Girls Club of the Harbor Area, Past President of the Board of Trustees of Harbor Day School and Past President of the Orange County Chapter of the USC Commerce Associates. He is a Staff Commodore of the Newport Harbor Yacht Club.
Burleigh is a member of the Real Estate Law Section of the Orange County Bar Association and the American Bar Association. He has served as an instructor in Real Estate Law with USC and has lectured to various groups in the areas of real estate and federal taxation.
